“ A work of art which isn’t based on feeling isn’t art at all.” -Paul Cezanne
I couldn’t hide my emotion holding this long and narrow basalt stone found by my husband on his hikes through the long rocky extensions of the Golan Heights.
I created this work of art using the “Repousse” technique (embossing), on a laminated pewter sheet.
I laid the pewter on the basalt stone, covering part of it.
The malleable softness of the pewter joined to the strength of the basalt stone created stability and steadfastness.
Black patina ,some gold leaf and copper add depth and harmony to this 3D sculpture.
