Description
“The City of Light” was created on Hanukkah 2019 during the eight days of Jewish celebrations.
I tried to bring light and harmony to this “Bas-relief” using symbols (the Dove, the Shofar, etc.)and reviving the atmosphere of Jerusalem during these festive days.
Bamboo covered with pewter and nine brass flames turned to be a notable Menorah, “Hanukiah” (eight candles for the eight nights of Hanukkah festivities and one to light on the candles).
Pewter “repousse” technique , gold and copper leaves covered with a brown and black patina are used to give life and depth to this symbolic and meaningful work of art.
